After cancelling their Brisbane event last year, the team behind the Animania Festival, an Australian anime convention, have confirmed that their upcoming Sydney event on the 22nd March 2014 will be their last. This means that the second Sydney event planned for the 30th August 2014 has effectively been cancelled.
This will put an end to the over 10 year history of the pop culture event. There is no word if the event will be replaced with a similar one in the future, or if this means that the calendar of an anime fan has just lost two weekend events each year.
