Just a quick reminder for my Aussie readers, the television airings of the Pulla Magi Madoka Magica anime series is continuing tonight at 8:40PM on ABC3 with the third episode “I’m Not Afraid Of Anything Anymore” set to air. This is the episode to watch if you really want to get a first look at the tone the series will take in future episodes. Further episodes are still planned to air every Saturday night at 8:40PM presumably until the end of the season.
Unlike other anime series that have aired on ABC3 in recent months/years, Madoka Magica will most probably not be receiving a Yokoso Anime Edition release as its initial release on DVD and Blu-ray consisted of three sets of four episodes each. Madoka Kaname is an average 14-year-old girl who loves her family and friends. One fateful day, this all changes when she has a very magical encounter with a strange creature called a Kyubey. Kyubey have the power to grant one wish to chosen girls. However, in exchange, those chosen must become magical girls and use their powers to fight against witches, evil creatures born from darkness and catalysts of despair. Was this encounter by chance or fate? No matter the circumstance, this will surely change her destiny. This is the beginning of a new magical girl story…
