This July, fans of the Puella Magi Madoka Magica series will be able to get their hands on the first two films for the series “Part 1 – Beginnings” and “Part 2 – Eternal” on Blu-ray. This follows its run in theaters worldwide. Part 1 and Part 2 of the Madoka Magica movies retells the original TV series and this release in particular will be imported from Japan…. meaning you get getting the retelling at around the price of the entire season on Blu-ray.
The Puella Magi Madoka Magica movies will be imported from Japan and released in North America in two different versions: Collector’s Edition and Standard Edition Blu-ray. Both the Collector’s and Standard Edition will include both Part 1 –Beginnings- and Part 2 –Eternal- movies. Both Editions will also include the theatrical trailer and textless opening and ending. Given the film’s international showings, the imported edition will feature 6 different subtitle languages. Bonus extras in the Limited Edition Blu-ray include exclusive new cover art, a deluxe booklet and the original soundtrack CD. Customers who purchase either the Collector’s or Standard Edition will receive a special postcard courtesy of Aniplex of America. In addition, for those who purchase the Collector’s Edition, Aniplex of America is also including a translation booklet for the “deluxe booklet.”
Just how much will this set you back? The standard edition will set you back $109.98 (SRP) while the Collector’s Edition is currently priced at $129.98 (SRP). There will be no English dub on these releases.
