*Gasp* It seems like the Rewatch/Replay of the month is set to return for its third month!
The “Sam’s Rewatch/Replay of the Month” series is in response to a problem I have and I assume at least some others out there have. As we see new and sometimes innovative video games and anime releases made available in market I find myself sometimes neglecting the older releases I have reviewed in the past as I dedicate most of my time to newer releases. Therefore, in order to encourage myself and hopefully others to empty out their anime/game cases and pop them in the DVD player/games console, once a month I plan on posting up a title from each category.
This time around however I am shaking the formula up a little bit, while my game and anime for this month I have played or watched in the past… I have never actually reviewed before – so both will be covered in the coming days – either due to me randomly picking it up off the shelf like Stellvia, or due to a recent PS1 Classics release by ATLUS USA as was the case with Persona 2: Eternal Punishment.

In the year 2167, Madkind suffered a cataclysmic disaster as a massive wave of electromagnetic radiation from a nearby supernova washed over the Earth. Yet, Mankind was able to survive by pulling together to support each other in this time of crisis. The year is now 2326 and the new generation of people are preparing for the second wave to hit. One young girl, Shima Katase, is going off to Stellvia, a space pilot academy, where she will learn how to protect Earth and the family she loves.
From the moment I acquired this title for my birthday a few years ago, I have always wanted to review this title but have never really had the justification or time to considering it is no longer easy to acquire. However as the purpose of the Rewatch/Replay is to encourage fans to find older titles such as this… why not turn it into a review whilst I am at it (Plus I want to watch it again)?

Back in 2011, ATLUS and later ATLUS USA to international regions released Persona 2: Innocent Sin on the Playstation Portable. For the international market this was the first time the game was made available on the market – due to the original release being passed over for the PS1. However despite this, the company did manage to release the sequel Eternal Punishment internationally.
Instead of releasing the Japanese PSP edition of Eternal Punishment, ATLUS USA have decided to recently release the original edition as a Playstation 1 classic – which contains all the original features but lacks the bonus perks of the port. In a similar case to Stellvia, I have a copy of the original release but haven’t had a reason to review it… and now I do.
