Just how far will you go to pay off a debt?

For one, Ko Ichinomiya, born and raised to never be in debt to anyone, upholds this idea very seriously. So when a girl named Nino, a self pro-claimed ‘Venusian’, inexplicably rescues him he is left with the greatest debt of all. Agreeing to become her boyfriend and moving in with her as repayment gets more complicated when your girlfriend’s home is literally under a bridge and you’ve just met the eccentric neighbours. Featuring a centuries old kappa, a cross-dressing nun, a rock star with an actual star for a head, to mention a few, all of whom make the ‘Venusian’ Nino seem normal, Ko just might be in over his head.

Welcome to life in Arakawa Under the Bridge!

Beware: Tiger ahead. Tread cautiously.

Tigers are fierce creatures and Taiga Aisaka is no exception. Coupled with a short temper, a height complex and a mean right hook, Taiga, nicknamed the Palmtop Tiger, is not someone to be messed with. Despite his less than stellar start, for one, Ryuji Takasu, handling such creatures will need to be his forte, when the one he has as a classmate is also his neighbour. But all isn’t that bad when it just might be that looks and first impressions can be deceptive and nothing is as it seems. Just like Ryuji, the school’s delinquent, may simply be a gentle guy at heart; Taiga might also sport a softer side under her harsh exterior.

…Suddenly tigers might not be all that fierce as Ryuji feared.

As with Arakawa Under the Bridge, Toradora! has already been released in North America by the team at NIS America. To differentiate their release from the North American edition, Hanabee are including the localized version of the more recently released OVA episode as well as seemingly their own boxset packaging.

As I have already reviewed Arakawa Under the Bridge and Toradora! on this site, I will be doing smaller Hanabee Edition reviews which are essentially the previous reviews with amendments to make the review accurate for the edition you are planning to buy. For Arakawa Under the Bridge this might focus on the different extras while Toradora’s review will have an added section on the OVA episode.
