Madman Entertainment have been actively airing anime on several television stations around Australia, serving to some as an entry point to the wide array of anime currently available on the market with releases such as Fruits Basket and Ouran High School Host Club. While for the last few years complete and half season collections have been the way to go with most anime releases. But for newcomers to anime who want to sample what is on the market – Madman Entertainment are planning to release Yokoso Anime! collections beginning December.
Starting with two collections for each Fruits Basket and Ouran High School Host Club, the collections will feature 6-7 episodes each at a low price point (No word on price yet). While these only encompass the first half of each season – releases for the second half will be made at a later date.
Given not every newcomer to anime may be able / willing to afford the $69.95 (Ouran) / $59.95 (Fruits Basket) complete series, if priced well I could see this working in the favor of the company. For a sample of what is included in these – check them both out during Sunday evenings on ABC3.
