While Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (Aka. When They Cry) has been released as an English dub by Geneon Entertainment et al. over the last couple of years, with Geneon no longer actively dubbing and releasing anime titles – the chances of the second “Answer Arc” season “Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai” being released in any form was decreased.
However, Australian publisher of anime titles Siren Visual a few months ago announced that due to reception and demand, they had acquired the license to this in demand series and would be releasing it this month.
Well…. today is Siren Visual’s release day and copies of it will be going out to those who have pre-ordered and to anime store shelves from today around Australia and I believe New Zealand. This will be a Japanese dub only release with English subtitles. It has already been one of the most highest pre-ordered titles from the company, and joins a list of Siren Visual English-exclusive releases including Dennou Coil and Welcome to Irabu’s Office.
I should have a review of this series in early June.
