Over the last month or so, Madman Entertainment have been asking their fans to vote for their favourite anime releases from the company (Along with other releases which due to their diversity, most likely won’t make it into this top 20) and giving away on-the-spot prizes to those who provided interesting vote justifications. The intention of this is to generate what fans would consider the companies Top 20 series releases.
We have finally reached the Top 5, and by the end of the week we should find out what the public voted as the number one Madman Entertainment released anime title. To begin the week we have #5, which was awarded to a series I know is popular but one that has never really won me over. I am talking about Naruto which has several hundred anime series and is actively being released.
Here is what the Madman team had to say on the announcement:
Do you think, for placing higher than its fellow Shonen Jump manga, One Piece, this proves for this poll Ninjas are better than Pirates? Perhaps we’ll leave THAT debate for another time. What is clear is that the lovable scamp from the Hidden Leaf Village has, like the ramen noodles he slurps up readily, wormed his way into our hearts.
It’s not always easy. As if being an orphan wasn’t enough, Naruto has to overcome mistrust at carrying the deadliest secret of the ninja village, but his determination and happy go lucky attitude bond him dearly to his friends in the amazing supporting cast. From ninja in training to maturing ninja throughout this creative, fun epic, Naruto is rightly winning new fans every day.
