New Anime/Manga Titles for July 2011 in Australia

I haven’t had much in terms of June releases so far, with most of the titles being a tad delayed in arriving, however there is no reasoning to withhold this article. You all should know the drill by now, the * means that I am interested in reviewing the series, and I will as always include an image and description of every title. If you feel up to it, please comment on what purchases you are interested in getting and I will try and prioritize reviews to the responses I get.

An alternate path opens up for Tomoya and Nagisa as they enter their second semester and head towards graduation. Beyond school they look forward to a family of their own, though not without facing hardships and ultimately tragedy. After Story follows on from the original CLANNAD series and further expands on the themes of family, trust and empathy. When Yui Hirasawa enters high school, she wants to join a club but can’t decide which one is right for her. Fortunately, the Light Music Club is desperate to find another member or they’ll be disbanded! So, with the enticement of delicious snacks and assurance that no musical experience is necessary, Yui joins the Light Music Club. She becomes the guitarist in this all-girl high school rock band with Mio Akiyama on bass, Tsumugi Kotobuki on keyboard and Ritsu Tainaka on drums. Together, they’re going to rock the school and someday make it to the Budokan! Oh, and did I mention that there are four different versions of this one volume? DVD, Blu-ray, DVD Collectors and Blu-ray Collectors?

Karin Maaka leads an ordinary life in spite of the fact that she is from a family of vampires. She is such an abnormal vampire that she doesn’t even suck blood – she makes it! Everything begins to unravel when she gets uncontrollable urges every time she gets near her classmate, Kenta Usui. Will she hold back the urge to purge or give in to her need to bleed?!

In these animated short episodes, based on the comical spin-off manga, the characters are presented in cute little versions of themselves. Fresh off their adventure in Alabasta, the Straw Hats wash up on an island inhabited by a penny-pinching money lender who lives amongst the livestock. This greedy old goat longs for the life of a pirate, but his boat doesn’t float and his tuckered-out ticker won’t hold out long enough for him to hoist the Jolly Roger. Nevertheless, Dr. Chopper and the gang do their best to make the old man’s dream come true, and he returns the favor by leading a goat-brigade raid on a marine fleet in hot pursuit of the Going Merry. This barnyard diversion creates an opening for the Straw Hats to sail out of trouble – and straight into the mysterious and deadly Rainbow Mist!
