When Ubisoft announced the full Just Dance 2016 tracklist only a few days ago, there may have been one unfamiliar song in the list. A new original song titled ‘CHIWAWA’ has been created by the Just Dance team in collaboration with soundtrack composer Tom Salta and Japanese singer Reni Mimura. A preview of the song can be found above.
Chiwawa sets out to tell the story of a girl who mistakenly steps on her pet chihuahua. Its in-game adaptation plans to feature energetic and silly choreography, combined with cute and crazy elements linked to the “kawaii culture”.
Tom Salta | Composer, Producer and Songwriter
I knew Reni would be the perfect collaborator for this song. I don’t think I ever laughed so much while working on a song, and I hope people will enjoy it.
Reni Mimura | Japanese Artist and Singer
Tom and I put together all kinds of wacky ideas and we ended up with something incredibly fun and catchy. I know this song will make people smile.
Alkis Argyriadis | Creative Director at Ubisoft Paris
Chiwawa is a fun J-pop song that once you hear, you’ll never forget. The song will be the first Just Dance creation to have an official music video. It was an amazing opportunity for us to collaborate with director Anne Horel of the award-winning Partizan Agency.
‘Chiwawa’ is set to be available on-disc when Just Dance 2016 launches on the Nintendo Wii, Nintendo Wii U, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One gaming platforms starting Octoer 22nd 2015.
