Despite shortages around the world and not yet breaking into the Japanese market, Sony Computer Entertainment have today announced that cumulative sales of the PlayStation 4 have reached 4.2 million units as of the 28th December 2013.
This is on top of 9.7 million software titles sold during the same period – with top selling titles including Call of Duty: Ghosts, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Battlefield 4, FIFA 14 and Killzone: Shadow Fall. PlayStation Plus subscriptions globally have also increased by around 90% since the PS4’s launch, allowing PS4 owners automatic access to two complementary games for the console and more to be released in 2014 as part of the Instant Games Collection.
