Cosy life-sim adventure Littlelands has a date for its Early Access debut. Apogee Entertainment and developers Rafael Martín and Kyle Creamer have announced that the game will launch into Steam Early Access on 16 November 2026, and an expanded demo is available now as part of Steam Next Fest.
Littlelands is set in a world of big-headed characters and colourful, claymation-style landscapes, and lets players take things at their own pace. Days can be spent growing berries, fishing, hunting for treasure, exploring caves and dungeons, getting to know the locals or simply sitting on a bench to watch the sunset. Players can also restore a farm, cook, catch insects and decorate, while helping the region’s residents with their problems can uncover clues that lead to new adventures. For those who want more of a challenge, venturing beyond town leads to dungeons, creatures and bosses, and the combat system has been built to sit alongside the game’s more relaxed activities.
That combat has been reworked in the new demo, which draws on community feedback from the first public demo. Players can now lock onto enemies, circle around them and dodge attacks, and can try out the changes against the creatures roaming the world, including the demo’s Goblin Boss. Those who would rather avoid fighting can stick to fishing, farming, decorating, treasure hunting and meeting the locals.
Character customisation has been expanded with new hairstyles, eyes, facial cosmetics, clothes and hats. A minimap, one of the community’s requests, has been added to make it easier to find the way around towns and trails. Default controls have been updated, with button rebinding available on both controller and mouse and keyboard, and mouse and keyboard players can switch on automatic camera rotation. An optional Focus Glow effect highlights objects that can be picked up or interacted with, a frame rate cap can be set in the graphics settings, and the demo supports both English and Spanish.
Developer Rafael Martín shared the team’s hopes for the new demo and the characters players will create:
We hope everyone enjoys our cozy quest with this smoother and more customizable demo,” said developer Rafael Martín. “We’re looking forward to seeing what cool characters people create with the new hairstyles, clothes, and hats!
