A law student who has lost faith in the justice system is the lead in Acts of Blood, a third-person martial arts action game from developer Eksil Team and publisher Big Fan that now has a release date. The game arrives on PC through Steam on 4 December, priced at $29.99, AUD or local equivalent. Big Fan has also confirmed that Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 versions will follow in early 2027.
The story of Act of Blood is set in the busy city of Bandapa, where a corrupt politician is responsible for the killing of a family. Players take control of Hendra, the family’s only survivor and a law student, who finds that the system is built to protect the wealthy and elite rather than deliver justice. With legal avenues closed off, he sets out to avenge his family and bring down the corruption himself.
Hendra’s fighting draws on several martial arts, with Taekwondo, Muaythai, Silat, kickboxing and wrestling all listed as inspirations. Combat is built around chaining attacks, blocks and counters together during fights. Bare hands are not the only option. Hendra can pick up a range of melee and firearm weapons and switch between them mid-fight, allowing players to mix close-quarters beatdowns with headshots and settle on a style that suits them.
Levels are designed around different kinds of combat scenarios, and parkour plays a part in getting through them. Hendra can climb, run, jump or sneak his way through each area while hunting targets, then plan an escape once the job is done. The surroundings can also be turned into weapons. Players can tear down parts of the environment, smash enemies through furniture and kick objects at them during fights.
