A futuristic London café and a haunted forest are the settings for two Red Ego Games Ltd. titles that eastasiasoft has just lined up, with one heading to Steam and both set for consoles. Visual novel Cup of Tales is due on Steam this holiday season, with console versions planned for 2027. Horror adventure YAMIGATARI: FOR3ST, meanwhile, has been confirmed for consoles and is expected in December 2026. Both games were originally developed by Red Ego Games Ltd., with eastasiasoft handling the console ports.
Cup of Tales
Anyone keen to get a head start on Cup of Tales will not have to wait long. The game is taking part in Steam Next Fest from 19 to 26 October, where a free demo will be available to play and the game can be added to wishlists.
Players work alongside Mia, owner of the Comfy Corner Café, serving coffee to the people who come through the door and listening to their stories. Helping customers with their everyday problems is part of the job, but over the course of each night their seemingly separate stories start to point towards something larger: a conspiracy involving CypherCorp, the most powerful tech company in the city.
The coffee itself is more than set dressing. Each drink is made by choosing ingredients, using the café’s equipment and getting the timing right, and the kitchen can be upgraded to unlock new ingredients, recipes and equipment. Between orders, players make dialogue choices that shape their relationships, gradually bringing a group of unlikely friends together to push back against CypherCorp. The story plays out across 10 chapters.
YAMIGATARI: FOR3ST
The tone shifts considerably with YAMIGATARI: FOR3ST, a psychological horror game with side-scrolling adventure elements. It combines retro pixel art with hand-drawn character portraits and an atmospheric soundtrack.
The story follows Nora, a young woman on a camping trip. On the third night, she has a dream so vivid it seems real, drawing her out into the dark. From there, things quickly go wrong. A woman’s voice and an inhuman creature lurk near the camp, and Nora has to find her way out of the forest before she is caught.
Escaping means exploring. Players guide Nora past graves, shrines, a well, a locked tunnel and other unsettling spots in the woods, gathering clues about the entity hunting her. Progress depends on solving puzzles, working out lock combinations, reading notes and collecting key items. Progress can be saved wherever an owl is perched. Choices matter too, with seven different endings depending on the decisions players make along the way.
