Three Resident Evil remakes have arrived on Nintendo Switch 2 today: Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition. With these releases, every mainline Resident Evil game can be played on the console, including the recently released Resident Evil Requiem and the upcoming Resident Evil Veronica. All three remakes are built on Capcom’s RE ENGINE, keeping the core of the original games while reworking them with new ideas and modernised gameplay. Between them, they follow some of the series’ best-known characters, including Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield and Jill Valentine.
Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition is set during a biological disaster in Raccoon City, where rookie police officer Leon S. Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield, who has come to visit her brother, are caught up in an outbreak of the living dead and must try to survive.

Resident Evil 3 tells the story of the Raccoon City Incident from start to finish through the eyes of Jill Valentine, a survivor of the special forces unit S.T.A.R.S. With the city in ruins and the infection spreading by the minute, Jill digs into the secrets of the Umbrella Corporation while being hunted by Nemesis, a relentless assassin determined to stop her.

Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition jumps forward six years, sending Leon on a mission to find and rescue the president’s daughter. Standing in his way are villagers who have been turned into monstrous cultists. The Gold Edition includes the Separate Ways DLC, a side mission that takes place in the background of the main story, along with a range of other downloadable content.
