The upcoming anime adaptation of PSYREN has received a fresh batch of promotional material, with REMOW Co., Ltd. releasing a new key visual and trailer for the series. Based on the psychic battle action manga by Toshiaki Iwashiro, which ran in Weekly Shonen Jump between 2008 and 2010, the anime is scheduled to premiere in October 2026 and will adapt the story in full through to its conclusion.
The new trailer (below) centres on protagonist Ageha Yoshina and the mysterious red telephone that serves as his only lead in tracking down Sakurako Amamiya, a childhood friend who has vanished without explanation. His search leads to him being pulled without warning into the world of PSYREN, where he becomes entangled in a deadly game alongside Hiryu Asaga and others. The footage also previews the characters drawing on their psychic abilities, referred to as PSI, as they endure harsh battles while attempting to unravel the secrets of a ruined future world.
Also confirmed alongside the trailer is the series’ opening theme. Titled “WARNING!!”, the track is performed by CLAN QUEEN, a three-member unit described as a new-generation group. A section of the song is featured in the trailer.
On the casting front, two further voice actors have joined the line-up. Yuhko Kaida will play Matsuri Yagumo, who serves as Sakurako Amamiya’s mentor, while Nobuyuki Hiyama takes on the role of Dolkey, an antagonist who stands in the path of Ageha and his companions. Both performers have shared comments about coming on board the production.
For those unfamiliar with the source material, the story follows high schooler Ageha Yoshina, who comes across a strange red phone card that has been left in a public telephone booth. Days later, his classmate and childhood friend Sakurako Amamiya, who held an identical card, disappears without a trace. As Ageha looks for her, he is drawn into rumours of a string of unexplained disappearances across the country, said to be the doing of a secret organisation known only as Psyren. Once he makes contact with the group, a deadly game begins that will alter the course of his life.
When the anime launches in October 2026, it will stream on Crunchyroll worldwide outside of Japan, and on IVI in Russia.
