Battlefield REDSEC has outlined its upcoming additions and tournament schedule, with Proximity Chat arriving on 15 September 2026 and weekly Cash Cups beginning four days later. A faster Battle Royale variant called Rapid Royale is also planned for Season 5, alongside the return of the Elite Series.
Rapid Royale will retain the foundations of REDSEC’s Battle Royale mode while reducing player counts, play spaces and match lengths. Faster-moving circles are intended to bring squads into contact more frequently, cutting the time spent searching for another fight.
Before that mode arrives, the first iteration of Proximity Chat will launch in Battle Royale on 15 September. The feature will allow players to hear nearby squads, adding another way for encounters to unfold during a match.
Battlefield Studios plans to gather player feedback on audio range, clarity, moderation tools and the feature’s effect on gameplay before expanding it further.
The competitive calendar begins with the Season 4 Cash Cups, running weekly from 19 September to 10 October 2026. Squads across APAC, EMEA and the Americas will compete in Battle Royale for a combined US$150,000, divided evenly between the three regions. Prize pools will increase as the competition progresses towards Season 5.
For teams seeking a place in the Elite Series, the Open Series will run from 24 October to 21 November 2026. Its three events will each take place across two days, starting with up to 384 teams per region. Competition will use 24-team Battle Royale lobbies, with the top 12 teams advancing from each round.
The Elite Series will then bring together returning teams from the original competition and squads that qualify through the Open Series. Its global prize pool totals US$1,338,000, with US$446,000 allocated to each of APAC, EMEA and the Americas.
Season 5 will run from 4 December 2026 to 16 January 2027.
