Shueisha Games has announced CONQUISTA: Tide of Wills, a colony simulation and 4X strategy game scheduled to launch for PC through Steam in summer 2027. The game is being developed by MicroSimulation and began as a solo project shaped by a single creator. Following several years of individual development, the project partnered with Shueisha Games and expanded into a full development team.
Players will begin with a small settlement before gathering resources, clearing forests, constructing buildings and attracting new residents. As the population increases, streets and industries emerge, allowing the colony to develop into a nation. Each citizen has an individual name, occupation and routine. Residents work, visit markets and gather in taverns, while travelling merchants move between borders and contribute to the economies of different nations.
The behaviour of these citizens is connected to a system known as Passions. Hopes, ambitions and frustrations can spread throughout the population, potentially producing events that affect the wider world. Players may respond to these movements, pursue a different course or attempt to suppress them by force. A rumour shared in a tavern could develop into a rebellion and alter national borders. Explorers may independently depart for uncharted territory, while merchants can identify trading opportunities and carry wealth between nations. Citizens may also establish new settlements, declare independence or help create alliances through the stories they share.
The player’s decisions extend beyond managing their internal population. Neighbouring nations can be approached through tribute, alliances and trade, or confronted through military expansion. Large conflicts can involve hundreds of units forming ranks on the battlefield. World conditions will change between playthroughs, including the terrain, surrounding nations and citizens who settle within the player’s territory. These variations are intended to make previous strategies less reliable when beginning a new campaign.
