Bandai Namco Entertainment has confirmed that the Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC for DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO will launch on 30 July 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.Producer Jun Furutani outlined the expansion in a new video, detailing its Limit Breaker Journey solo mode, expanded character roster and additional battles.
Super Limit-Breaking NEO will add a whopping 33 playable characters drawn from DRAGON BALL, DRAGON BALL Z, DRAGON BALL SUPER and DRAGON BALL GT. The DLC also includes four new Episode Battles, additional Extra Battles and four new stages.
Limit Breaker Journey allows players to develop a selected character around their preferred playstyle. Each run involves travelling between destinations on a map, completing battles and participating in events that gradually strengthen the chosen fighter. Movement across the map consumes stamina, which reduces the character’s starting health in subsequent battles. Opponents are assigned an SP value to indicate their strength, with more challenging enemies awarding greater amounts of EXP. Special events can provide opportunities to meet particular characters, equip stat-enhancing Battle Art or undertake training for additional EXP. Increasing a character’s SP grants points that can be distributed across six parameters. Characters developed through Limit Breaker Journey can then use their enhanced statistics in Player Matches and Offline Battles.
A free update will be released alongside the DLC, introducing the Sparking! Boost and Chain Blast battle mechanics for all players. Sparking! Boost consumes a larger amount of Skill Stock to substantially increase attack power while Sparking! mode is active. The temporary offensive advantage is followed by reduced statistics once the effect expires. Chain Blast provides a new follow-up option after knocking an opponent away. Players can switch to a reserve ally and continue the attack with a Blast, potentially dealing significant damage. The free update will also introduce three new variations of existing stages, separate from the four original stages included with Super Limit-Breaking NEO.
DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO is currently available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.
