Just in time for that last-minute Mother’s Day gift, a new allocation of tickets for the Brisbane season of the Broadway musical Anastasia will be released this week. These additional tickets will cover performances from 7 October to 18 October 2028. Individuals who have registered for the waitlist via the official website can access tickets immediately. The musical is an adaptation of the 1997 animated film and the historical legend of Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanov. Set during the transition from the Russian Revolution to 1920s Paris, the story follows a young woman named Anya as she attempts to discover her heritage. Her journey involves the assistance of a conman and a former aristocrat, all while she is pursued by a Soviet officer.
The production was created by the Tony Award-winning team of Terrence McNally, Stephen Flaherty, and Lynn Ahrens. Directed by Darko Tresnjak, the show originally debuted on Broadway in March 2017. The Brisbane cast features Georgina Hopson as Anya, Robert Tripolino as Dmitry, and Joshua Robson as Gleb. They are joined by Rodney Dobson in the role of Vlad, Rhonda Burchmore as Countess Lily, and Nancye Hayes AM as the Dowager Empress.
The ensemble includes Sophia Bae, Elliot Baker, Nicholas Cunningham, Davis Giotopoulos Moore, Todd Goddard, Stephanie Kurlow, Keian Langdon, Bella Minniti, Nathan Stafford, Alexis Van Maanen, Patrick Volpe, Annie Wilson, Deone Zanotto, and Andrea Zappacosta.
