The newly formed North American publisher Mahjong Pros has entered into a distribution agreement with Pathway Book Service to manage its print catalog logistics. Under this arrangement, Pathway will oversee warehousing, book fulfillment, and retail distribution for the publisher. As a consumer, what this means is that you will find books available in US national retailers such as Books A Million, Walmart, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble in the future.
The distribution network will support the launch of the publisher’s first four manga titles, beginning with Crybaby Mermaid: Illustrated Memoir of Yuumi Uotani later this month. This release is an illustrated memoir focusing on themes of personal belonging.
In May 2026, the publisher will release Reform With No Wasted Draws: The Legend of Koizumi, a story concerning political mahjong diplomacy, alongside Getter Robo High. The latter is a spin on Go Nagai’s classic super robot series centered on high-pressure decision-making. The initial wave concludes in June 2026 with Vermilion Stella: – Illustrated Memoir of Arisa Date.
Harrison Doan, who serves as the Head of Partnerships at Mahjong Pros, discussed how these distribution partnerships facilitate the company’s growth and international reach;
Pathway and Gazelle are going to be a big part of helping us ramp up quickly and get these books, and more mahjong products, into readers’ hands at real places like Barnes & Noble and Kinokuniya. As we keep expanding our manga and strategy book catalog, I’m looking forward to working closely with them to get our books in front of more readers around the world.
