THQ Nordic and DigixArt Studios have released a playable demo for the upcoming plasticpunk narrative adventure, Tides of Tomorrow, on the PlayStation 5. The full version of the game is currently scheduled for a global launch on 22 April 2026.
The newly available demo offers a 40 minute experience designed to introduce players to the title’s primary mechanics and its ‘Online Story-Link technology’. The latter system allows the game world to be shaped by the decisions made by previous players, meaning those entering the demo will find themselves navigating a narrative environment influenced by the choices of a predecessor.
Gameplay in Tides of Tomorrow is built around these interconnected story paths. Each playthrough can vary significantly depending on the specific Story-Link selected, revealing different consequences and story arcs. The nature of the challenges players face also shifts based on these prior actions, with the game featuring a variety of encounter types including stealth sequences, high-stakes chases, investigative segments, and moments requiring persuasion.
The demo sets out to provide a glimpse into a world described as being on the brink of collapse. Players can interact with a range of characters and non-player characters who are programmed to remember the actions of those who inhabited the world before them. This design is intended to reinforce the dynamic and choice-driven nature of the narrative, where every decision contributes to the evolving state of the environment.
