BAFTA has partnered with Kilimanjaro Live, Esk, and Nibbs Events to launch a national tour of the BAFTA Games in Concert. This marks the first instance of the organisation bringing its live orchestral video game music celebration to the broader United Kingdom public, following its premiere at the Royal Festival Hall in London. The program focuses on soundtracks that have received nominations or wins in the Music category of the BAFTA Games Awards over the last two decades.
The touring production is designed as an immersive experience, seeking to combine live symphony orchestras and choral performances with synchronised visuals and gameplay. Each venue will feature regionally based orchestras, including the Royal Northern Sinfonia, the Welsh National Opera Orchestra, and the BBC Philharmonic, all accompanied by the London Voices and led by conductor Adrian Ronda Sampayo.
The scheduled dates for the UK tour are:
- 23 May 2026: The Glasshouse, Gateshead
- 31 May 2026: Bristol Beacon, Bristol
- 4 June 2026: Usher Hall, Edinburgh
- 5 June 2026: Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow
- 6 June 2026: Symphony Hall, Birmingham
- 7 June 2026: Aviva Studios, Manchester
The concert repertoire features orchestral suites endorsed by their original composers, covering a wide variety of genres and eras. Featured titles include modern hits such as Baldur’s Gate 3 and Helldivers 2, alongside historical favourites like Assassin’s Creed, Tomb Raider: Legend, and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Other soundtracks included in the programme are Fallout 4, Disco Elysium, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, and Cuphead.
Jane Millichip, the CEO of BAFTA, commented on the expansion of the concert series and the significance of musical scores within the gaming industry:
BAFTA Games in Concert is a celebration of the extraordinary creativity behind video games music and the powerful role it plays in shaping our emotional connection to games. Following the incredible response to the London premiere, we’re delighted to take this experience on the road for the first time, bringing together world-class orchestras and audiences across the UK to honour more than 20 years of BAFTA-recognised games music.
Tickets for all performances are currently available through the official tour website. Pricing for the events begin at £34.50.
