The Worldsoul Saga continues today with the global launch of Midnight, the latest expansion for Blizzard’s long-running MMORPG World of Warcraft. This update introduces a variety of new features, including a level cap increase to 90, the introduction of player housing, and several reimagined zones. While the expansion is now accessible to all players, the competitive Season 1 is scheduled to begin on 18 March 2026.
The expansion’s campaign focuses on the escalating threat posed by Xal’atath, the Harbinger, whose invasion targets the blood elf homelands. Players begin their journey in Eversong Woods, but the subsequent leveling experience is non-linear. Adventurers can choose between three distinct paths: exploring the troll kingdom of Zul’Aman, investigating the region of Harandar, or following Arator on a quest involving his family and the Light.
Across these storylines, players will traverse four primary new zones:
- Eversong Woods
- Zul’Aman
- Harandar
- Voidstorm
in addition to exploring some new reimagined areas.
Players can now unlock the Haranir, a new allied race that can be recruited by completing a specific questline. Once unlocked, the Haranir are available to both Alliance and Horde players. This race has access to several classes, including Druid, Hunter, Mage, Monk, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, and Warrior.
The PvP landscape has also expanded with the addition of Slayer’s Rise, a 40 vs 40 epic battleground located within the Voidstorm. Players who prefer open-world combat can engage in World PvP within this area by enabling War Mode. For those unfamiliar with player-versus-player combat, a new Training Grounds feature has been added to teach the basic mechanics of the mode.
This is but some of the new features, now available to players in World of Warcraft.
