Release Date Confirmed For Homura: The Crimson Warriors On Nintendo Switch

Idea Factory International has confirmed the release schedule for their upcoming otome visual novel, Homura: The Crimson Warriors. The title is set to launch digitally on the Nintendo Switch in both North America and Europe on 31 March 2026. A physical edition will arrive simultaneously in North America, while the European physical release will follow almost a month later on 28 April 2026.

Pre-orders are scheduled to open on the IFI Online Store starting 2 February 2026. The publisher has outlined three specific versions of the game for prospective buyers. The Physical Standard Edition, priced at $49.99 USD, €49.99, and £49.99, includes the game card and a trading card pack containing one random holographic card and four regular finish cards.

For those preferring digital formats, a Standard Edition will be available on the Nintendo eShop for $39.99 USD, €39.99, and £34.99. A Digital Deluxe Edition is also planned for $54.99 USD, €54.99, and £49.99. This deluxe version bundles the base game with a 26 track digital soundtrack and a 20 page compilation of digital short stories.

Originally released in Japan on the PlayStation Vita in 2018, Homura: The Crimson Warriors is a historical fantasy set during the final chapter of the Warring States period. The narrative takes place fourteen years after the Battle of Sekigahara, focusing on the rising conflict between the ruling Tokugawa shogunate and the Toyotomi clan. Players assume the role of protagonist Mutsumi Mochizuki, who joins Nobushige Sanada and his group of ten ninjas, known as the Sanada Ten Braves, as they fortify Osaka Castle against a group of assassins called the Ura Yagyu.

The gameplay incorporates standard visual novel elements alongside specific mechanics designed for this title. An “Energy Reading” system allows players to monitor affection levels and manage the “Ring status” of love interests, balancing their unique powers against their physical health. To assist with navigating the multiple endings, a “Ninja Guidance” feature uses scrolls to track story progression, allowing players to revisit past events and alter outcomes. Additionally, a “Path of the Samurai” mechanic permits players to level up their ninja rank to assist the warriors during battle sequences.
