Selkies Interactive Releases Updated Demo For Echoes Of Mora Ahead Of March 2026 Launch

Selkies Interactive has confirmed that their debut title, Echoes of Mora, is scheduled to launch on PC and Steam VR in March 2026. Ahead of this release, the development team has made an updated demo available on Steam, introducing a range of refinements and expanded accessibility options based on recent feedback to their initial demo launch.

This update seeks to highlight an enhanced PC experience alongside a dedicated VR mode. Additionally, the developers have expanded the game’s localization to include six new languages: German, French, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, and Ukrainian.

The narrative adventure is set within a mysterious, flooded world. The story follows a young girl named Mora who is searching for her brother after he disappears near a cursed violet lake. As rising waters threaten her home, players must explore the submerged ruins of an abandoned village. The gameplay loop involves solving environmental puzzles and locating “Echoes” to open time portals. These portals allow players to travel to the past, where they can witness the events leading up to the tragedy and interact directly with Mora to influence the village’s ultimate fate.

Meike Strippel, the Co-Founder and Lead Artist at Selkies Interactive, commented on the work the team has put into the latest build, sharing:

We’ve spent the last few months listening to our community and refining the demo based on player feedback. The demo now features an upgraded swimming experience with natural arm movements, and a deeper emotional connection through expanded narrative. We’ve also ensured the experience feels seamless whether you are playing on PC or in VR.

Promoted features of Echoes of Mora include:

  • Dive into Mystery: Explore a captivating underwater world with an emotional story about a sibling duo and a village’s fight against a rising flood.
  • Time-bending Investigation: Solve environmental puzzles and unlock Echoes to travel back in time, collecting hidden clues to unravel the mystery of Mora’s missing brother.
  • Shape the Fate of Mora: Interact directly with Mora in the past to influence her journey and decide the ultimate fate of the village.
  • Total Playstyle Freedom: Play on PC with keyboard/mouse or controller, or experience the full immersion with VR support featuring natural arm-based swimming via motion tracking.
  • Seamless Switching: Switch seamlessly between PC and VR modes at any time during the same play session, giving you complete freedom in how you explore.
