Ubisoft has outlined the first campaign details and post launch roadmap for Anno 117: Pax Romana, set to release on 13 November 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon Luna and Windows PC. Developed by Ubisoft Mainz, the next instalment in this city builder simulation franchise places players in the role of a Roman governor whose decisions shape the fate of their provinces.
For the first time in the series, players can choose a protagonist and steer a character driven narrative. As Marcus, a young appointee wrestling with self doubt, the campaign centers on proving worth in a job defined by hard choices. Alternatively, Marcia’s rise challenges convention in a male dominated empire, with her storyline focused on leading with conviction and defining what Roman rule means for citizens under her care. Regardless of whom you choose, there is set to be consequence driven governance. Province selection, favored deities, technological development and military leverage all influence growth, stability and prestige.
A Year 1 Pass will expand the map and mechanics across three downloadable content drops. Provinces of Ash introduces the largest island yet, dominated by an active volcano, a new deity to venerate and resources tied to its harsh landscape. The Hippodrome focuses on monument construction inspired by the Circus Maximus, unlocking chariot races that boost citizen entertainment, city prestige and specialist recruitment. As the third DLC for the first year of content releases, Dawn of the Delta shifts play to a province defined by vast deserts and a major river system, with unfamiliar gods and culture to engage as Roman influence stretches further afield. Each DLC seeks to add fresh strategic layers, new encounters and regional challenges designed to vary late game objectives.
The Year 1 Pass is included with the Gold Edition or can be purchased separately.
