Capcom has marked the first public hands on for PRAGMATA at Gamescom 2025 by detailing new Hacking mechanics and unveiling fresh character and enemy art. All of which can be found below:
Set during Hugh and Diana’s attempt to escape a lunar research station, the latest brief focuses on threats built by Delphi Corporation. Walkers, modeled on the M4 series, are humanoid support bots designed to operate alongside people. Their M4AM configuration is adapted for low gravity and vacuum like conditions, making them common hazards in lunar environments.
A larger threat arrives in the form of the SectorGuard, a boss unit from the S 35 product line developed by Delphi’s military division to protect high priority facilities. Spherical modules on each arm carry guided weaponry and low gravity ballistics. Players will need to time Hugh’s thruster dodges to create openings for Diana to Hack its defenses.
The reveal also introduces Overdrive Protocol, a new Hacking ability encountered during the SectorGuard fight. As its gauge fills, Diana can simultaneously Hack surrounding enemies, forcibly opening armor and temporarily halting movement. The move is powerful but is intended for careful use at the right moment.
To further enhance Hacking options, players can collect consumable Hack Nodes in the environment and trigger them by passing through them in the Hacking Matrix. These pickups temporarily lower enemy defenses and add another strategic layer in combat. One example, the Decode Node, weakens targets for a limited time. Several games have tried to implement different styles of “hacking mini-game” over the year, so it will be interesting to see if PRAGMATA manages to break past the typical mediocre experience associated with the mechanic.
