Square Enix has released Final Fantasy: Moogle Bounty Mayhem, a fast-paced, strategy-driven board game from acclaimed designer Seiji Kanai, best known for Love Letter. The game features all-new illustrations by Final Fantasy XII art supervisor Ryoma Ito, seeking to combine a distinctive visual design with accessible yet strategic gameplay.
Designed for 2–4 players, Moogle Bounty Mayhem takes around 15 minutes per round. Each game sees players take on the role of one of six moogle siblings, each equipped with unique abilities, as they compete to complete “Mob Hunts” by defeating monsters drawn from the Final Fantasy XII universe.
Gameplay revolves around selecting and playing cards to battle monsters, with effects that vary depending on both the moogle and monster involved. Players must anticipate their opponents’ strategies, with some cards playable face down to add an element of bluffing. The constantly changing combinations of moogles and monsters are designed to keep each round feeling fresh.
