Bandai Namco Entertainment have released a playable demo for SUPER ROBOT WARS Y on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5, giving fans an early opportunity to experience its tactical, grid-based combat before the game’s full launch on 28 August 2025 for Switch, PS5, and PC via Steam.
The demo covers the first chapter of the main game, introducing players to a roster of iconic heroes from classic sci-fi and mecha anime series. Save data from the demo can be carried over to the full release, including character creation, items, and resources. Players who complete Chapter 1 in the demo will also receive bonus in-game items and points when the full game launches.
As the latest entry in the long-running series, SUPER ROBOT WARS Y seeks to blend turn-based strategy with anime crossover storytelling. Players will position their units, command them in battle, and strengthen their teams by upgrading mechs and training pilots using credits and resources earned through missions.
Pre-orders for the game are open now, offering early unlocks for the Cybaster and protagonist mechs from Super Robot Wars V.
