Indie studio Dank Hearts and publisher WhisperGames have confirmed that their psychological puzzle-adventure Type-NOISE: Shonen Shojo will arrive on PC via Steam on 17 September 2025. This experience is pitched as a psychological puzzle-adventure experience that asks players to untangle memory, trauma, and self-acceptance.
Set inside the twisting alleyways of Noise Scramble City – a dreamlike, Tokyo-inspired metropolis manifested from its inhabitants’ pain – the story follows six teenagers who wake with no recollection of how they got there. Every district functions as a mind-bending prison, and the only way out is through more than forty bespoke puzzles that fuse courtroom logic, rhythm challenges, and board-game mechanics.
The playable cast comprises superhero-obsessed introvert Zena Yugamizora (15), jealousy-ridden Itsuki Houzuki (16), razor-sharp skeptic Honoka Kirishima (16), withdrawn survivor Kaito Shimizu (17), truth-stretching streamer Hiyori Endou (17), and earnest busybody Soto Ochibana (15). Overseeing their struggle is Specter, a whimsical figure who seems to hold the city’s master key. Each chapter shifts perspective, letting players confront the characters’ jealousy, shame, denial, and courage as hidden memories surface.
