Bandai Namco’s Summer Showcase has delivered a fresh look at Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree, unveiling a character-focused trailer that spotlights two of the action roguelite’s eight playable heroes. Developed by Fantasy Life studio Brownies Inc. and produced by Daisuke Nagaoka, the hand-drawn title arrives on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC on 19 September 2025.
The new footage introduces Rekka, a fiery young samurai and founder of the Eternal Flame Dojo. Sworn to protect priestess Towa, she combines wide-arc sword combos with area-of-effect techniques, though the trailer notes she can be surprisingly clumsy outside of combat. Sharing the spotlight is Nishiki, a towering humanoid koi fish whose muscular build contradicts his inability to swim. Despite the irony, Nishiki travels the land as a devout wanderer, framing the fight against the villainous Magatsu as an act of philanthropy. His move-set emphasises mobility and stringing attacks together for sustained pressure.
