Antstream has revealed that Retro Classics, its streaming-friendly library of vintage titles made available through Xbox Game Pass, has already attracted more than one million active players in fewer than four weeks.
The initiative debuted with just over fifty games, letting subscribers relive childhood staples such as Pitfall!, Kaboom!, Commando, and MechWarrior 2 on Xbox consoles, the Xbox app for PC, and a range of cloud-enabled devices that includes LG and Samsung Smart TVs, Amazon Fire TV sticks, and Meta Quest headsets.
Commenting on this announcement, Steve Cottam, CEO of Antstream enthused:
We’re thrilled with the success of the Retro Classics launch, and so happy the Game Pass community has enjoyed heading into the past with the iconic titles on offer with many experiencing them for their first time. We’re excited to continue our collaboration with Xbox into 2026, and can’t wait to share what comes next.
A second batch of releases has now joined the line-up—Cosmic Commuter, Heart of China, Skiing, Solar Storm, and Subterranea—with Antstream confirming that more than 120 additional titles are on the roadmap. Fans can also look forward to new challenges, online tournaments, and other community-focused events rolling out across 2025 and into 2026.
