Do you feel that World of Warcraft peaked at Mists of Pandaria? The mists have begun to part once more, as Blizzard Entertainment are inviting World of Warcraft Classic players to rediscover the lost continent of Pandaria. With the pre-expansion patch for Mists of Pandaria Classic now live across regional servers, players can start preparing for the full launch on 22 July 2025 by exploring a wave of new features and changes introduced ahead of time.
Among the most notable additions in this pre-expansion version is the return of the Pandaren, a neutral race that allows players to choose between the Horde and Alliance after completing their starting experience. Alongside them arrives the Monk, a versatile class capable of filling the roles of damage dealer, healer, or tank through the Windwalker, Mistweaver, and Brewmaster specialisations respectively.
For returning players, several Classic systems have been given a significant overhaul. A new talent system revamps how classes grow and specialise, AOE looting helps speed up questing and farming, and a number of pre-launch activities set the tone for the conflict to come. These include the Theramore’s Fall scenario and the introduction of Pet Battles, a tactical minigame that gives vanity pets more utility and purpose.
To celebrate the update, Blizzard has introduced a cross-game reward for those who play through the Pandaren starting zone before 30 July. Players who complete the Wandering Isle storyline in Mists of Pandaria Classic and choose their faction will earn the Shaohao’s Sage Serpent, a Skyriding mount usable in modern World of Warcraft.
Those looking for a quicker path into the expansion can also take advantage of a Level 85 Character Boost, available via Battle.net or bundled with the Sha-Infused Epic Pack. This option applies to all progression realms and can be used on newly available Pandaren and Monks.
Looking ahead, players can mark their calendars for the global release of the Mogu’shan Vaults raid, scheduled to go live on 31 July at 3:00 pm PDT. This six-boss raid, available in both 10- and 25-player variants with Normal and Heroic difficulties, takes place in the ancient halls of Kun-Lai Summit and delves into the remnants of the mogu empire.

Mists of Pandaria Classic will be accessible to all players with an active World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time. Optional paid bundles like the Sha-Infused Epic and Heroic Packs offer themed items and extras but are not required to experience the content.
