While originally planned for release last month following the game’s (very) Early Access release on Steam a few months back, KRAFTON has confirmed that the next major update for life-simulation game inZOI is scheduled for release on 13 June 2025. The upcoming patch aims to bring a wide range of content updates, system improvements, and the long-awaited modding toolkit.
Among the headline features is the official introduction of the inZOI ModKit, which will allow players to begin developing and sharing custom content more extensively. The update also delivers several roadmap features previously announced, along with new tools and game systems.
One of the major changes lies in the overhaul of family and relationship mechanics:
Expanded Family Formation: Zois can now have children without needing to be married. Adoption, which was originally designed with prerequisites, has been simplified to encourage greater freedom. Additionally, players can choose a Zoi with specific traits and use genetic data via medical procedures to create a child.
Teen Romance Options: Teenage Zois can now develop romantic relationships with each other. Reflecting on the update, Kjun expressed a desire for clearer visual differences between Teen and Adult Zois, hinting at a potential future visual revision.
City-Wide Romance: Romantic relationships are now fully enabled for any Zoi in the city, regardless of gender identity or background. Players can adjust these settings from the Create a Zoi screen by selecting “Change Gender Identity.”
Text Messaging System: A new social interaction feature will allow Zois to send text messages to one another as relationships progress. While the messages are pre-set, the team has expressed interest in developing a more open-ended communication system in the future.
Furthermore, additional confirmed content include:
Character Studio Additions: Over 20 new character customisation assets will be available, including hairstyles, outfits, and accessories.
Furniture Expansion: More than 100 new furniture items have been added, spanning kitchen sets, bedroom decor, and baby-themed objects.
The June update will also deliver various technical and system improvements, including tweaks to animations, sound settings, Canvas tools, and simulation performance.
