With Nintendo finally offering a gaming console capable of handling the open-world environment of Night City, CD Projekt Red has confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is now available on the newly launched Nintendo Switch 2. The release includes both the base game and its expansion Phantom Liberty, and is available as a physical 64 GB game card or as a digital download via the Nintendo eShop – I would recommend the former option.
The open-world action RPG places players in the role of V, a cyber-enhanced mercenary navigating the dangerous and neon-lit streets of Night City. With a blend of combat, hacking, and decision-driven storytelling, the game aims to deliver a comprehensive experience on Nintendo’s latest hardware.
To align with the Nintendo Switch 2’s new hardware features, Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition supports motion controls, gyroscope aiming, touchscreen functionality, and the console’s approach to mouse control. These integrations seek to allow players to, for example, physically tilt the console to aim, swipe the screen to manage menus or trigger in-game hacking mechanics, or plug in a mouse for enhanced precision.
In terms of language support, the game features voiceover options in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish (Spain), Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian (base game only), and Simplified Chinese. Subtitles and interface text are available in an even wider array of languages, including Arabic, Thai, Ukrainian, and more. Language packs can be downloaded separately via the eShop, which may influence the overall game size.
