Plied and Prejudice Heads to Perth This July

Date:

Fans of Jane Austen, theatre lovers, and those partial to a chaotic night out will have something to toast this winter, as Plied and Prejudice prepares to stagger its way into His Majesty’s Theatre, Perth – specifically at The Maj. Opening 18 July and playing through to 17 August 2025, this wild reimagining of Pride and Prejudice promises mischief, mayhem, and martinis, all served with a twist of Regency ridiculousness.

Fresh from seasons in Brisbane and London, Plied and Prejudice is the latest irreverent comedy from Woodward Productions, co-presented in Perth by the Arts and Culture Trust. Penned by Matthew Semple and directed by Dash Kruck, the production seeks to smash the teacups of tradition with five actors desperately juggling twenty characters in just ninety minutes. Throw in a nightly curveball—where one cast member is “unexpectedly” taken out of action—and you’ve got a recipe for theatrical chaos where no two performances are the same.

So, whether you’re bringing an eligible bachelor, an unwilling cousin, or the friend who swears they “don’t do theatre,” Plied and Prejudice might just win you over, most ardently. Tickets are on sale now via the His Majesty’s Theatre website, with the Perth cast to be revealed soon.
