Maximum Entertainment has rolled out a new update for Smalland: Survive the Wilds, delivering a host of new features headlined by the introduction of full cross-play. As of today, players on Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 can join forces seamlessly, venturing into the perilous miniature wilderness together – no matter their platform.
But the update doesn’t stop at cross-play. Among the most significant additions is the debut of player Guilds, designed to take cooperative survival to the next level. These persistent groups allow players to share a Guild Tree Encampment, accessible anytime at least one member is online, and collaborate in its construction, defence, and management. A new revival item is also being made available, in hopes of ensuring adventuring parties stay active even in the face of danger, allowing guildmates to rescue one another mid-mission.
For players with a knack for creature companionship, new features add depth to this bond. Companions can now be housed in newly introduced stables, categorised by size. A Summoning Pebble also enables players to call their allies into the wild when away from camp, while the Homecoming Totem offers a way to bring lost companions back to safety.
Meanwhile, the northern Overlands have opened up with fresh content. Two new Tree Encampments await discovery and integration into the fast-travel network, and a new quest introduces the Rufous-Bellied Tit, a mysterious and formidable creature.
A full list of updates can be found on the game’s official Steam page.
