Monster Train 2 Now Available on Consoles, PC, and Xbox Game Pass

Monster Train 2, the sequel to the acclaimed deck-building strategy game Monster Train, is now available. Developed by the same development team, Shiny Shoe, and published under Devolver Digital’s Big Fan label, the game can be purchased for $24.99 on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It is also available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.

Players are once again invited to build powerful card decks to take on a new apocalyptic threat—an overwhelming force known as the Titans. With a blend of strategic card play and tactical unit placement, Monster Train 2 introduces new gameplay mechanics while retaining the core elements that made the original a standout in the genre.

The game features a multi-tiered battlefield aboard a train, requiring players to defend each floor strategically as enemies attempt to destroy the Pyre at the train’s heart. Key additions include new card types such as Equipment Cards, which provide unit enhancements, and Room Cards, which grant buffs to specific train compartments.

Players can also align with one of several new factions:

  • The Banished – Angelic warriors and hymnists focused on valour and heavy gear.
  • The Pyreborne – Gold-driven combatants who gain power through wealth.
  • The Luna Coven – Moon-powered witches who wield arcane forces.
  • The Underlegion – Fungal entities that embrace cycles of decay and rebirth.
  • The Lazarus League – Inventive alchemists with dangerous, dual-purpose brews.

Additional features include an Endless Mode, train customisation options, unlockable Pyre Hearts for deeper tactical variety, and a suite of challenge modes including Daily and Dimensional runs.

On PC, players may also purchase the Monster Train 2 Supporter Pack, which includes the official soundtrack, digital art book, behind-the-scenes content, desktop wallpapers, and printable posters.
