Warner Bros. Games has announced that Hogwarts Legacy is now available for digital pre-order on Nintendo Switch 2, with a new gameplay trailer also debuting to highlight the updated visuals and performance enhancements of this visuals, hopefully bringing the game more in-line with the releases on more powerful competitor consoles. The game is scheduled to launch on 5 June 2025.
Players can pre-order both the Digital Standard Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition via the Nintendo eShop. Availability of the physical edition will vary by retailer. Those who already own Hogwarts Legacy on Nintendo Switch, either digitally or physically are eligible for a discounted upgrade on the Nintendo Switch 2 version via the Nintendo eShop.
Originally developed by Avalanche Software and published under the Portkey Games label, Hogwarts Legacy is set in the 1800s wizarding world. Players begin as a fifth-year student and embark on an open-world journey through iconic and original locations, mastering spells, crafting potions, discovering magical creatures, and customising their character.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game is being co-developed by Avalanche Software and Krome Studios. It includes enhancements such as improved visuals and audio, faster load times, refined controls, and support for the new Joy-Con 2 mouse input.
Hogwarts Legacy is currently available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
