Independent developer Francis Coulombe, in collaboration with Devolver Digital, has released Look Outside, a survival horror RPG now available on Steam for $14.99 AUD, $9.99 NZD or local equivalent.
Set entirely within a single apartment building, Look Outside invites players to survive a surreal crisis over a 15-day period, during which venturing outdoors or even looking outside could lead to horrifying consequences. The narrative begins with a cryptic message from the TV: it will be safe to leave your home in 15 days – but until then, isolation and caution are key.
Players will explore the distorted interiors of their apartment complex, scavenging for food, weapons, and supplies while encountering disturbing monsters and peculiar characters—many of whom were once neighbours. Between expeditions, players return to their room to recover by preparing meals, crafting tools, engaging in small activities, and interacting with the few remaining survivors. The game features multiple paths and endings, offering different experiences depending on your choices and actions throughout the ordeal.
