Kakehashi Games and Don Yasa Crew have announced that SONOKUNI, the Japanese hip-hop-infused biopunk action game, will be coming to Nintendo Switch. This follows the previously announced PC (Steam) version, with the Switch release set to arrive sometime after that. Furthermore for those in Tokyo this weekend, a demo of SONOKUNI is available for players to experience at the Tokyo Indie Games Summit.
Developed by the musical collective Don Yasa Crew, SONOKUNI aims to deliver an experience which blends fast-paced action with a unique hip-hop and biopunk aesthetic.
Players take on the role of Takeru, a lone assassin on a mission to raid a technologically advanced superpower driven by biotechnology. The game explores themes of morality and survival, drawing inspiration from Japanese mythology. Its intense, stylish combat is complemented by an atmospheric soundtrack composed by Don Yasa Crew.
