Anime distributor AnimEigo and its parent company MediaOCD have announced the upcoming release of Bubblegum Crisis: Perfect Collection on Blu-ray. The collection is set to launch on 11 February 2025 and will feature all eight episodes of the cult-classic cyberpunk OVA series in 1080p HD. Originally released in Japan between 1987 and 1991, Bubblegum Crisis became a landmark title in anime history, blending elements of mecha, 1980s J-pop, and dystopian science fiction.
The Perfect Collection Blu-ray edition includes not only the remastered series but also an array of bonus content, such as a newly recorded interview with renowned character designer Kenichi Sonoda and a 50-page booklet featuring liner notes and additional interviews. The set will also feature a variety of audio and subtitle options. Audio tracks include English, Japanese, Spanish (Castilian), Catalan, French, Italian, and newly reconstructed Korean (for episodes 1-3 only), with English SDH, Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Korean subtitle options.
