Virtuware’s latest virtual social app, StageTime, is set to launch on Meta Quest on 16 January 2025. Designed with the aspiration of bringing people together through performances and creative expression, the app seeks to offer users the chance to host and participate in immersive virtual events such as karaoke, comedy, and poetry recitals.
StageTime allows users to invite up to 10 friends into vibrant performance rooms, providing a platform for individuals to showcase their talent or simply enjoy the performances of others. A streamlined entry process eliminates the need for account setup, letting users quickly join public rooms and dive into the experience.
The app features full-body avatar customisation, enabling users to create personalised digital representations with options for hair, skin tone, accessories, and more. Movements such as gestures and dance are fully rendered, while vocal animation on the avatar syncs with the users voice – the usual features one would expect.
StageTime boasts YouTube connectivity, letting sers share their favourite videos with others in real-time, ensuring seamless playback without lag. The app also includes an in-game LIV creator kit, offering camera options for recording and sharing performances from various perspectives.
Following its launch, Virtuware plans to expand StageTime with a range of updates, including new virtual venues, additional avatar customisation options, and monetised features such as purchasable emotes and cosmetics.
Hamza Qureshi, Founder of Virtuware, emphasised the app’s focus on connection and creativity, sharing:
My goal is to present StageTime as a new way to connect with people through shared experiences in a live, virtual setting. By blending performance and connection, StageTime invites people everywhere to celebrate creativity, share their talent, and forge meaningful moments together.
