Just a quick reminder to those who may be interested in watching Australian musical theatre talent host a Christmas carols concert. The co-production between Michael Cassel Group and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), titled A (Very) Musical Christmas is set to stream on ABC TV and ABC iView at 7.30pm this evening. This is a recorded version of the live concert which took place earlier this month on the stage of Hamilton the Musical’s encore Sydney season.
This holiday special, in support of Beyond Blue, aims to bring seasonal cheer while raising awareness about mental health. Proceeds from ticket sales for the live recording on 2 December 2024 went to Beyond Blue, supporting accessible support resources for those facing challenges during the festive season among other initiatives. Hosted by ABC Classic’s Megan Burslem and ABC News’ Jeremy Fernandez, A (Very) Musical Christmas features performances by a range of well-known artists including Eddie Perfect, Cody Simpson, Casey Donovan, Justine Clark, Tim Draxl, Jason Arrow, and cast members from Hamilton, Titanique, and Dear Evan Hansen – among others.
In addition to the broadcast/streaming of the main performance, a soundtrack will also be made available at 7.30pm via select music streaming platforms.
