Massive Monster, Devolver Digital, and Laced Records have teamed up with a roster of metal musicians to develop Cult of the Lamb: Hymns of the Unholy, a six-track metal reimagining of River Boy’s soundtrack for the indie game Cult of the Lamb. The album will be available on all major music platforms starting 28 October 2024, with pre-orders and pre-saves now live.
The album, produced by Sam George (Pick Up Goliath) at Mammoth Sound Studio, features a notable line-up of musicians, including:
- Howard Jones (Light the Torch, Sion, ex-Killswitch Engage)
- Matthew K. Heafy (Trivium)
- Scott LePage & Clay Gober (Polyphia)
- Javier Reyes (Animals as Leaders)
- Josh Baines (Malevolence)
- Sean Long (While She Sleeps)
- Drums by Mike Malyan (ex-Monuments)
The album’s lead single, “CULT,” has been released alongside an official music video. Created by animation studio Half Giant, the video blends footage from previous Cult of the Lamb trailers with new scenes to showcase the Lamb’s rise to godhood. The track, featuring Pick Up Goliath, Howard Jones, Scott LePage. and Mike Malyan, is available for streaming and download on major platforms.
Fans can also pre-order an Exclusive Edition vinyl LP from the Devolver Digital store, alongside two t-shirt designs featuring artwork by Godmachine and a logo by metal designer Nekromorph. The album’s cover art was designed by Massive Monster’s Carles Dalmau.

We’re huge fans of metal music and know there’s a lot of metalheads in the Cult of the Lamb community too. There’s a natural link between the game’s themes and heavy metal music and, given the recent release of our Unholy Alliance DLC and the Goat character, why not get some G.O.A.T.s from the world of metal to transform River Boy’s iconic melodies into heavy metal slammers? All the artists featured on this release have given 100% commitment to this project, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their support and the backing of their management.
