Bandai Namco Entertainment has rolled out the first console and PC game in the Tensura series, titled That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime ISEKAI Chronicles. This action RPG is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The game’s launch trailer can be viewed about, starting things off immediately with a surprisingly laggy-looking cutscene.
Based on the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime light novel and its subsequent anime adaptation, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime ISEKAI Chronicles allows players to relive iconic moments from the original story while also exploring an entirely new narrative. This new storyline also features new characters created under the supervision of the original author, Fuse.
In the game, players are tasked with building the Jura Tempest Federation, welcoming new allies to their capital city, each bringing their own side quests. The game features 2D side-scrolling action, hoping to enable dynamic combos in battles against powerful enemies. Players can utilise special moves seen in the animated series, with each encounter providing new elements to upgrade buildings and strengthen bonds with friends in the town.
A season pass is available for purchase separately or as part of the Digital Deluxe Edition, offering three DLCs:
- DLC 1: “A Strange Fate” – Adding Hinata (29th August)
- DLC 2: “The Fairy Queen’s Labyrinth” – Adding Veldora (12th September)
- DLC 3: “Martial Arts Tournament” – Adding Milim (19th September)
Each DLC introduces a new character, scenario or mode, buildings for the town, and additional side quests to extend the player’s adventure.
