Through a partnership between developer 2D Boy and Fireshine Games, a physical edition of puzzle game World of Goo 2 is set for release on the Nintendo Switch starting 29 October 2024. As you can see from the packshot image above, it is shaping up to be just a standard edition release, with no substantial bonus goodies.
World of Goo 2 offers players the opportunity to build bridges, grow towers, terraform terrain, and fuel flying machines. Compared to the first instalment of the franchise, WoG2 introduces new species of Goo, such as Jelly Goo, Growing Goo, and Shrinking Goo, across over 60 levels. Players will solve puzzles and guide as many Goo Balls as possible into each level’s exit pipe, discovering what awaits them on the other side.
Brian Foote, Chief Business Development Officer at Fireshine Games, commented on the collaboration:
We’re so excited to be working with 2D BOY to release a physical version of World of Goo 2. World of Goo 2 is oozing in personality and fun, and we’re delighted to bring the game to even more Nintendo Switch players looking to add this to their physical collection.
