Kodansha Creators’ Lab Announces Fairy Tail Indie Game Guild Project

With Two Games for Release in Coming Months

Kodansha Creators’ Lab has today unveiled the Fairy Tail Indie Game Guild project, featuring two new Fairy Tail-themed games: Fairy Tail: Dungeons and Fairy Tail: Beach Volleyball Havoc set for release this year. These games will be available on Steam, with release dates set for 26 August 2024 and 16 September 2024 respectively. More information on both games can be found below:

Fairy Tail: Dungeons

Kodansha Creators’ Lab Announces Fairy Tail Indie Game Guild Project 1

Fairy Tail: Dungeons is a deck-building roguelite game featuring characters from the Fairy Tail series. In Fairy Tail: Dungeons, players can choose from five characters, including Natsu, Lucy, and Gray, each with unique abilities. The objective is to collect magic cards and defeat monsters to navigate through a mysterious dungeon.

Storyline: Natsu and Happy discover a strange dungeon beneath the guild that strips intruders of their abilities. Saved by Labi, they join forces to reach the deepest part of the dungeon and rescue Labi’s friends. The final boss is designed by Hiro Mashima, the creator of Fairy Tail.

Gameplay: Players explore the dungeon within a limited number of turns, battling foes and collecting items. The game features strategic use of magic cards, triggering special effects like Magic Chains. Players can also form a party of three characters, enhancing strategic depth.

Fairy Tail: Beach Volleyball Havoc

Kodansha Creators’ Lab Announces Fairy Tail Indie Game Guild Project 6

Fairy Tail: Beach Volleyball Havoc aims to be a chaotic magic beach volleyball game supporting up to four players locally or via Steam Remote Play Together. The game features 32 magic-using Fairy Tail characters engaging in intense 2-on-2 volleyball matches. As teams score points, their magic abilities are enhanced, with hopes of increasing the game’s chaos.

To celebrate the announcement of Fairy Tail: Beach Volleyball Havoc, an art contest titled “Fairy Tail at the Beach” is being held. Artists are encouraged to submit beach-themed artwork featuring Fairy Tail characters. Thirty winners will be selected, with some artwork featured in the game. For more information on the competition, visit the ILLUST DAYS website.

New Game on the Horizon

Additionally, a new game, Fairy Tail: Birth of Magic (provisional title), is in development. This magic fighting game focuses on creating unique original magic and engaging in magic showdowns. Further details will be announced as development progresses.
