Woodward Productions, known for their previous production A Very Naughty Christmas, is taking the iconic literary work ‘Pride and Prejudice’ and adding their own unique spin on it in Plied and Prejudice. This corrupted and parodied take on Jane Austen’s classic work is set to be performed at The Shed, Northshore Brisbane from 14 June 2024.
Over an 80-minute bite-sized theatrical experience, audiences will enjoy a new humorous rendition of the classic, featuring five actors portraying twenty characters. But some things will go astray, when one of them imbibes five shots of liquor and does their best to derail the show.
This new rendition by Woodward Productions aims to merge the timeless charm of the original with a contemporary and comedic twist. Producer Alex Woodward is expressing enthusiasm in the following statement:
We’re thrilled to bring this unique theatrical experience to Brisbane audiences. With Plied and Prejudice, we’re blending classic literature with a modern twist, creating an unforgettable night of laughter and merriment. Get ready to experience Pride and Prejudice like never before. Come and join us at The Shed, Northshore, and prepare for an evening of literary hilarity that will leave you begging for an encore.
Plied and Prejudice will run from 14 June 2024 at The Shed, Dock C at Northshore Brisbane. The show will run at various times across the weekend: Friday at 6:30pm and 8:30pm, Saturday at 4pm and 7pm, and Sunday at 1pm and 4pm.
